To apply for a Canada PR Visa, you have to meet the minimum CRS points required. You have to calculate your CRS points to check what are your chances of getting an ITA for Canada PR Visa. Once you have an ITA, you will have 60 days to submit your application for a Canada PR Visa to the IRCC.

How to calculate your CRS points?

CRS calculator is an important tool that allows a candidate to calculate the points that are required in order to immigrate to Canada under the Canadian government’s Federal Skilled Immigration Programs. CRS points are awarded to the candidates based on factors like age, language proficiency, educational qualifications etc.

Express entry point’s calculator is a vital instrument for the candidates to calculate their points for the Canada Immigration in 2020. Express entry program is the flagship program for Canada Immigration for the skilled immigrants all over the world. Point-based program that manages the profile of the candidates who have applied under the skilled immigration program – Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Using these points, candidate profiles are classified into the express pool which is the main reason for using CRS. To know how many points one is able to get, they use the CRS point calculator. Applicants whose profile ranks highest in the Express Pool based on CRS points, they receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for a permanent residence visa from IRCC.

Before being able to create their Express Profile in the Express Entry program and apply to PR Canada, the candidate must first clear the 67 eligibility criteria. These points are awarded to applicants based on factors such as age, language proficiency, work experience, educational qualifications, adaptability, etc. Once the candidate achieves the required minimum of 67 points, they can apply for Canada PR through the Express Entry program.

How are points awarded in the CRS score Calculator?

In CRS, points are awarded to applicants based on the following factors:

  • Core Human capital (includes age, level of education, language proficiency and work experience)
  • Factors related to spouse / common-law partner (includes education, language skills and work experience)
  • Skill Transferability factors
  • Bonus points (includes siblings in Canada, fluency in French, arranged employment, provincial appointment)

The addition of all the points awarded from these factors adds up to 1200 points. Thanks to express draws organized regularly by IRCC, they are able to set the CRS score threshold and send the invitations to qualified and competent candidates.
