The educational system is big, diverse, and rich. It serves millions of students with the goal of allowing them to thrive and providing them with a better future, while also encouraging bright young people to be aware and informed, to grow with an understanding and perspective of things, and to shoulder the future, the development, and advancement of mankind.
The purpose of the Olympiad (including the Maths Olympiad or IMO), which is open to kids in grades 1 through 12, is to identify and assist individuals who have the potential to become future scientists or technologists. IMO 2021 also assists pupils in competing against students from all across the country or the world. It allows them to assess their mathematical abilities. The IMO 2021 results provide students with an indication of their academic progress. After competing in the Olympiad, the student receives a Student Performance Report (SPR) that includes a full analysis of their performance.
Each year, SOF hosts IMO for class 8 too, which allows students to put their math skills to the test by competing against other students. Before delving into the specifics, it is necessary to have a basic understanding of the Olympiad. This tradition of conducting IMO has been going on for a long time now. This is quite evident as one can refer to Class 8 IMO question paper 2012.
Students must be informed of the critical dates in order to avoid missing the Olympiad 2021 application deadlines. It would assist students in submitting their Olympiad 2021 applications on time before the deadline.

- Level 1 Exam Eligibility
All students in grades 1 through 12 are eligible to take the Level 1 exam, regardless of their grades. The more loosened eligibility standards help to increase the number of students who participate. Students in grades 1 to 12 who are pursuing schooling in the United States or abroad are eligible to take the IMO Level 1 exam.
- Level 2 Exam Eligibility
Only students who achieve a minimum performance level in the Level 1 exam are considered for the Level 2 exam. The following students are eligible to take the Level 2 exam:
The top 5% of students in each class will be qualified for the Level 2 exam.
The top 25 zone and class rank holders will also be considered.
Top students from each participating school, where at least 10 students from a class take the exam and score 50% or higher.
The highest rank holder will be qualified for Level 2 in the case of section-wise registration.
It should be emphasised, however, that students in Classes 1 and 2 are not required to take the Level 2 exam. Their performance will be evaluated based on their success on the Level 1 exam.
- IMO EXAM CLASS 8 RESULT
Within 8 weeks of the examination, the Olympiad results are usually announced. The SOF distributes the results directly to the registered schools, thus students can pick up their results at their particular schools. Students can also access their results at the SOF’s official website. The specific dates for the IMO result announcement are at SOF’s discretion.
Students that take part in the IMO receive a Student Performance Report as well (SPR). It is a full report on the Olympiad performance of pupils. SPR is valuable to kids and their parents since it provides a thorough overview of their performance. An SPR can assist students in gaining a better understanding of their strengths and shortcomings.

Let’s have a look at an AMAZING NEWS
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur recently announced a new way to apply for admission to the institute. Students that qualify for the internationally renowned Olympiads in physics, chemistry, mathematics, and informatics will be eligible to apply for direct admission to the institute. However, it is up to the various departments and the institute’s senate to make the final decision on these students’ admittance.
According to Nitin Saxena, head of IIT Kanpur’s UGARC (undergraduate academic programme review committee), students who qualify for international Olympiads have already demonstrated their ability and do not require a further check in the form of the IIT-JEE exam. “Each year, six Indian students compete in the internationally renowned Olympiads. They go through a rigorous preparation process in order to compete in several government-sponsored Olympiads,” he explains.
